All Together

Today, on the third episode of Season 3 on the Bois & Bar Talk podcast, the Drink of the Week is All Together by Stony Creek Brewery out of Branford, CT. All Together is an American style IPA with a 6.5% ABV. It smells of grapefruit and oranges with a golden amber color. After tasting, we noticed the bitter grape flavor and weren’t the biggest fans of this one. However, we give All Together credit because it actually had a special purpose and campaign designed to support both business and hospitality workers struggling during the pandemic.

All Together Campaign

The All Together drink is actually a cost effective recipe created by Other Half Brewing made to be a global collaboration among breweries. The All Together campaign invites all breweries to use the recipe, name, and artwork to raise awareness for local hospitality workers in their respective communities. The campaign also requests that a portion of proceeds go directly to hospitality workers. The low cost recipe is designed to help breweries weather the storm while business slowly returns to normal. Over 800+ breweries participated in the campaign.

Our Rating

Overall Rob gave this low cost Stony Creek Version a 5.7 out of 10. Kev gave a rating of 4.2. While we weren’t crazy about the grapefruit taste, we’re still happy to share the special story and glad we gave it a shot.

Kev finally watched The Last Dance documentary series made in 2020 revolving around Michael Jordan’s final season with the Bulls. The documentary focuses on the championship run during the unforgettable 97-98 season. We talked about the intense mentality of Jordan that ignited the rest of the entire franchise. We also point out that Jordan’s competitors enjoy feeding into his legacy. They enjoy sharing stories of getting beat by the greatest basketball player of all time.

Other topics of episode 3 include discussing the lack of personality on professional networking platform LinkedIn and talking about Introverts/Extraverts.

Crucial Mass

Today on the second episode of Season 3 of the Bois & Bar Talk podcast, the Drink of the Week is Crucial Mass by Counterweight Brewing. According to Counterweight’s website description of Crucial Mass, “Ripened mangos, passionfruit, and a touch of grapefruit dominate the nose, with a subtly sweet malt backbone to support the big explosive hop flavors”. It’s a popular American IPA, and also one of their most popular drinks to get.

Overall, Rob rated this beer an 8.7 out of 10 which was higher than Kev’s rating of 7.1. For an 8% ABV, it is definitely a smooth beer to taste. On this episode we opened up talking about Uber driver stories and a summer get away trip. We quickly transitioned to the new release of only NFL simulation game on the market, Madden 21. EA Sports has been facing a lot of criticism for not making enough changes to the annually released game.

We went to the Microsoft store and started reading all of the Madden reviews from upset gamers. The official user rating was something around 1.7 stars out of 5. The reviews were absurd, bashing the game and the developers without a good review in sight. It was reading these off without trying to laugh. We are both big gamers and football fans if you didn’t already know. Of course we like some more quality changes in future Madden games.

High Noon

After two months off, Bois & Bar Talk is finally here for season 3! Join us for episode one featuring the Drink of the Week – High Noon. During this episode, we introduce you to yet another new studio setup. We did this by turning the camera 180 degrees and basically flipped our whole studio around. We have a shelf in the back, so this season we will be collecting all of our “Drink of the Week” choices. The break was much needed, but we’re excited to reconnect with you and get some good laughs this season.

High Noons are a pretty rare drink to find, at least where we are in Connecticut. They are another trendy seltzer drink, but High Noons are particular better than most. Directly from their website it describes High Noon as, “Made with real vodka, real juice, and sparkling water”.

We had some fun getting back to Bois & Bar Talk and gave you a few updates on what we were doing this summer during our break. Kev’s 26th birthday also just passed so Rob hit him with lightening questions to answer. Kev had the chance to reflect on what it means to be 26 years old.

For one of the improvements in season 3, we created a Patreon. With Patreon you can support us financially so we can at least break even on our expenses, expand faster, and keep exploring new drinks. We are offering some cool bonus content and features in return. We even plan on giving free hats to our supporters after a few months. Big shout out to Darren, Brooke, Mike, and Meg for being our first supporters!

Overall, we hope you enjoy this season 3 debut episode and it’s always fun to be back.

Cheers!
